AstraZeneca approached AnoxKaldnes (the Veolia Group division specialising in biological wastewater treatment) to find a solution that would allow the safe discharge of their pharmaceutical wastewater into Lake Mälaren.
The wastewater was highly toxic and contained a very high percentage of organic content: the aquatic ecosystem would be severely compromised.
After careful analysis, MBBR technology was chosen for its ease of implementation and efficiency in treating and removing organic compounds. The plant and treatment proved to be excellent for our client's needs.
